The good news is that the right wingers can't find any; frozen pizza, orange juice
FOXNews.com has it's top 10 news stories of 2004 split into two articles. The only item which they present as "good" as opposed to bad or neutral news is Arafat's death. They squeeze a bit about the torture scandals in Iraq, Afghanistan and Cuba into the "war on terror" entry.
FOX has two articles listing the good news of 2004. The first begins with the good news of a girl who was attacked by a shark and later went surfing and ends with a performer who made a public appearance after being mauled my a tiger. So I suppose the message is that not every recent animal attack was deadly. The second only mentions long term trends, most of which are currently in reversal.
Conspicuously absent,
- 59,027,612 Americans cast vote for most liberal senator in senate, only 30% of eligible voters cast votes for Bush
- Democratic gains in state level seats across the nation
- Abortion of non-viable fetus still legal everywhere
- Supreme Court rules that White House not abovce the law (detainees have rights, US courts have jurisdiction over Guantanamo Bay detainees, etc)
- Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh repeatedly make fools of selves
