Miracles and Dr. Issam Nemeh

eggs on a bed of onions and some other good stuff to eat

In English, the word "miracle" can be used in at least a few distinct ways. It can refer to a violation of understood physical laws through an alleged divine intervention, such as the parting of the Red Sea or the literal bodily resurrection of the crucified Christ. Let's call those events "divine miracles".

In a different way, we can refer to fortunate but unlikely events which we cannot completely understand but do not violate physical laws as "miracles" - such as when a terminal cancer patient given two months to live recovers their health. Let's call those events "fortunate miracles."

We can also refer to common, but particularly fortunate events as "miracles", as when we speak of vaccines as "miracle drugs" or the passage of pro-environment legislation through a Republican controlled legislative body. In this case, we do understand the nature of the phenomenon and we call it a "miracle" simply to refer to the fortune it brings. We can call these "colloquial miracles". The use of the word miracle in a purely colloquial sense brings about no controversy - we readily accept that the use of the word merely ascribes tremendous fortune to an occurrence.

Issam Nemeh, a medical doctor in the Cleveland area has recently been holding "faith healing" services and many attending them claim to have been healed of physical afflictions through a divine miracle. The alleged "miracles" have included the disappearance of a chronic pain of the shoulder, a ruptured spinal disc, and a eye tumor.

Ascribing such phenomenon to a particular deity is nonsense - all religions have always credited the power of unexplained healing to their preferred deity or deities - Hindu, Muslim, and American Indian as well as Christian.

By having many massage sessions with my aunt who is talented in many alternative healing techniques, I can personally attest to the fact of having observed many phenomena unexplainable by Western medical science. I felt her hands become not warm but hot while "working" on me, a bizarre and pleasant tremor oscillating down my body coinciding with the placement of her hands above my body, and marked improvement in a curvature of my spine which many years of traditional Western medicine didn't put a dent in. She ascribed the phenomena to no deity. When speaking of what was happening, she explained that she imagined "energy" coming in through her head and being focused by her hands. She didn't claim to further understand it itself, but only to understand that what she could do works.

The power of positive thinking itself through prayer or another vehicle is a common observance. And the gift of healing "by hands" through an innate and sometimes developed skill is also common across religions and cultures. These aspects to sickness and healing are ones which have been unusually ignored in Western medicine. That we are beginning to recognize them is a correction in course not a new direction.

The people believing that Issam Nemeh is a conduit for a Christian Holy Spirit do no harm by believing so - in fact that belief in itself may be the largest actual influence to any actual benefit. But nonetheless it is superstition: it is an irrational preference to believe fortunate miracles as being divine miracles.

I would like to mention that the Cleveland Catholic Diocese considers these faith healing services as "legitimate spiritual expressions", and that they do not encourage that people abandon medical care.
I attended a faith healing in Cleveland yesterday by Dr. Issam Nemeh. Christ was present there. No doubt in my mind about it. What I witnessed was not "superstition", but rather a divine intervention and faith.

I'm interested Lorraine, what physical law or laws were broken by the divine intervention you believe you witnessed?
Since religion is a lie, then religionists are psychopaths. Therefore, it doesn't matter what other lies they use to prop up the first one. Intellectual dishonesty can only muddy the confusion that these poor fools already experience. Dr. Issam Nemeh is a master at what is called 'bait and switch'. Suckers never really get healed at the service, they have to come for several more visits at his 'clinic'. They pay for those. They are usually told that Nemeh's calendar is so full that it will take months before they can get in, "but" with a little more money up front maybe he can see you sooner, especially since you are dying and he might miss out on all your gullible money! Good luck sucker, you deserve all that you get.

This is no humbug. I have taught and practiced medicine for 38 years. I was at the Wolstein Center, I watched carefully, particularly arthropathies, profound changes. We'll never convince these atheists, won't they have a bit of explaining to do at judgment - hey guys don't stand by me. Praised be the name of Jesus.

DrDave
Dr Dave -

Because you're a doctor trained in the science of observation, I ask the same question I asked Lorraine: what physical law or laws were broken by the divine interventions you believe yourself to have witnessed?

What evidence have you that "Jesus" caused what? If you could be specific, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
I was present at the Wolstein Center Sunday, and so was the Divine. Dr. Nemeh is without a doubt a healer who is pervaded by Divine energy, and is capable of radiating this healing energy to others. I found his energy field to be a representation of Divine love. He is a very special healer.
Denny from Akron-
Dr. Nemeh isn't a master at what you call "bait and switch." He is a true healer of God's love. He does not charge money at his healing services like you said. Although, he does charge money at individual visits, but Dr. Nemeh has to make a living somehow, right? I experienced his healing myself. No words could describe it. After, my teeth could not stop chattering. My mouth and jaw also felt very different. I know that Dr. Nemeh is not a fraud, and I would recommend him to anyone who believes.
If you don't believe in what Dr. Nemeh is doing, why did you attend one of the services? Why did you take the place of someone who may have been shut out due to the large crowd?
Those that have no belief system or are unwilling won't be healed. Just another hard lesson for some. I for one am grateful that the doctor is here now.
I have just one question. By accepting Christ into our lives we receive the Holy Spirit. When did
Jesus transfer this gift of receiving the Holy Spirit to Dr. Nemeh?
I wonder what in his childhood or life, made Denny such a bitter, prejudging person. Why does he think that his opinion matters here? If he doesn't believe in Dr. Nemeh, that is fine, why does he think that anyone cares what his opinion is? Were you raised in a house where your opinion matter so little that as an adult you have to spew your sarcasm as your only way of getting attention? Live and let live, Denny. I am sure there are plenty of people in your life rolling their eyes behind your back and only tolgerating your opinions and your presence. You will be alone as you age. People will grow tired of you.
Dear Denny,
Look up the definition of faith..it has nothing to do with proof of physical laws. So get off this hook, it is tiresome.
I think that it is no one else's business if a person chooses to seek alternatives to conventional medicine. Being narrow minded and sarcastic is not acceptable, and frankly it is no one's business except for the person who is suffering and looking for help. To call people suckers because they are searching for help, what kind of a jerk are you Denny?

I just got off the phone with a close friend who has been to one of his healing services, back in April. The girl she came with was healed of a brain tumor - just had a check up about 2 weeks ago and it was gone. She saw someone at least relieved of the symtoms of parkinsons (I say at least relieved because she does not have any contact with this individual to follow up). There were other healings that she saw. I asked if she gave any money - she said they wouldn't take any. Not even when she offered a donation for the pizza they were giving everyone. I asked if they took any information - she said none, didn't even ask for their names. It was 4am when she left and Dr. Nemah had been healing all day with only a 30 minute lunch break.
Christ told us we could do these type miracles and more. Why is that so hard to grasp? Even tiny kids "get it." They've studied this type healing and even those at Harvard admit it holds major validity. Sceptics are useful in life, however stay in that mode and get left behind. Christ was only 2000 years ahead of most of us. We're all going there, one by one. How soon will you make it? Annie
Most of all I'd like to thank these wonderful individuals for showing us that Jesus was right and they are demonstrating for us what we can do. Their sacrifice for us is Christlike in that they suffer critisim for being pure light and love and doing great works. They are hanging from our modern day crosses. Let's let them down and not repeat the Roman method of stamping out all that is good that may threaten current popular beliefs. After all, before Columbus we KNEW the earth was flat, right? God bless these souls willing to help the common man with their time and love. They have obviously learned to get out of the way to let God's light and love travel through them to the people they help heal. It is God's energy coursing through them. I used this same method making movies. I'd do things I had no clue how to do by saying first, "God, work through these hands." I won awards doing so and had to give credit to God for I knew NOthing about what I was doing. I proved it to myself it's doable. God Bless. Texan
Unless you have experienced pain or an illness first hand, I feel that there is no way you can understand the gift that Dr. Nemeh has. After being in chronic pain for 5 years, and I am only 23 years old, Dr Nemeh was the first doctor to diagnose me correctly and give me relief. His kind eyes, touch and presence are truly amazing. How can you say those things about him, when faith is all some of us have left? He is living proof of miracles and a genuine, caring individual. He has only helped people greatly and is the closest to God that anyone will ever get until the afterlife.
Those who attempt to dis-credit healing services are simply trying to validate their own emptiness, insecurity, and lack of faith. They perceive things they can't understand in terms of only physical measurements.

I attended the healing service at St. Martin of Tours in Cleveland, OH yesterday. I was there to support a relative, not for any personal issue. Those in attendance were prayerful people of faith. The Nemeh's ministry is one of love and caring. There is no question that the Lord was present to those who believe in him. "Wherever two or more are gathered in my name, there is love". The Nemeh's do not seek to profit from sharing their "gift". People are free to avail themselves of it, or to ignore it. It is hypocritical to criticize something you don't understand, but feel interested enough to comment on. Jesus was criticized too. Perhaps that's the fate of the true believer, but one they accept willingly.
I'd like to share my experience here if you would be so kind:

At Ernest Angley's Grace Cathedral at 2700 State Road in Akron, Ohio = is where many are healed of all manner of sicknesses and diseases. The reason that this takes place in our services is because the TRUTH is preached in all it's fullness, without compromise and then God confirms the truth as is stated plainly in his word - the evidence of Signs, wonders, miracles, and healings. The bible plainly states that there would come false prophets in the last days and they would really be deceivers. It's very important that you take EVERYONE, no matter who they are, what title they hold, what claims they make and take them to the WORD OF GOD. Reverend Angley is a devout, true, prophet of God who lives what he preaches, who has completely sold out his life to God and staying with God all hours of the day and night, ever seeking him for his divine will. This man that God has chosen to help people has been on so many 40 day water fasts that he has lost count and the bible teaches fasting. There are three steps into the greatness of God and they are simply: Prayer, FASTING, and living in the WORD OF GOD. Reverend Angley has taught this down through the years. I have been healed through this Jeusus ministry of many, many ailments. I have been to a lot of services in other places thorought my life, however, until I stepped foot into Grace Cathredral at 2700 State Road, Akron OHio - that I found true deliverance. I was healed of all types of bondages. I've been healed of skin cancer, I've been healed of a hip condition, blow out knee, psoriasis, depression, migrane headaches , pnemonia and many more things. It isn't Reverend Angley that is doing these miracles. He stays hidden behind the cross and the Lord uses this humble servant of God to pour his great power through for the healing of the people. Reverend Angley helpes people day and night, always, praying for them, helping and always thinking of others. His main goal in his life is to win souls. He often says - Lord, If I can't win any more souls, then just let me die. His other phrase is to WIN THE LOST AT ANY COST. This is all I can say, only all the deliverances for people bound with drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, cocaine and other things like witchcraft and all other evils of the devil - I've witness many people being delivered. The deaf and dumb are healed and many wonderful things happen. If you would like to attend our services. They are ALWAYS FREE - we never charge for anyone to come to the house of God. Our healing and miracle services are on Friday's at 7:00 pm and the services start with the beautiful Angel's Grace Cathedral Choir = they are awesome and anointed! If you don't see miracles, then you don't have to come back. I personally invite you to come and experience and RECEIVE ALL GOD HAS JUST FOR YOU! You may, of course, visit our website at: www.ernestangley.org and you may also call the 24-hour prayline for any prayer requests that you may have at: Cleveland toll free: 1-800-842-8043 or Arkon people can call: 330-929-5010 24 hours. We love you and please come and be with us sometime! We have prayer in every service and our other service times are Saturdays at 7:00 and Sunday Morning at 10:00 am and Sunday evenings at 7:00 pm

God Bless you and Yours this Christmas!
I think most any believer can "perform" healings by allowing the energy to come into them. I myself did this. My dearest friends daughter was very ill. At the onset of her illness I had prayed that I could endure her pain for her as she had I thought endured enough. I learned through this prayer….be careful how you pray and what you pray for….I was given her pain. One day I called my friend and asked her if her daughter was Ok because I was having a real hard time breathing. She said no that the doctors now thought she had a lung infection ...I then asked her if I could go to the hospital and touch her daughter. When we got there she was just coming out of X-ray for her lungs. Right there in the hallway not five feet from the X-ray room door…I toughed her chest. I felt a very strong energy going through my body into her body. It tingled like electricity and made me shake and feel faint. When the energy stopped the doctor immediately took her back into X-ray. The first set of X-rays showed her lungs filled with infection….the second X-ray set….her lungs were clear. The doctor was set back with what he saw and my friend and I were grateful. This gift was given to me time and again throughout her illness and her doctor listened every time I talked to him. He said it was like having a jump on her illness…. foresight. Another time my leg hurt so bad I could hardly walk. I went to the hospital and told her doctor that the pain was not in her knee it was in her groin and that there was a large blockage like feeling. They were talking of removing her leg at the knee until I talked to her doctor. They instead removed a tumor and saved the leg. I am not any different that anyone else. I don’t call myself a “healer” or anything near that. I believe in the power of God and I believe that his power can be anyone’s if they accept. I have had many times helped people in many ways...but I know it is not me it is he that I believe and accept. One more thing...have you ever met an Angle? I have. But then again...that's another story.
my wife was cured of RSD by dr nemeh.... a true miracle of faith
I attended a healing service with Dr. Nemeh, his wife and team. I truly beleive in God and in the power of prayer. I was truly moved during the whole experience. I was touched deeply as I witnessed first hand from a few feet away a young boy who had cancer (maybe 7 years old) be prayed over and gently fall to the floor. This young child and what looked to be his grandmother both could have not faked what I witnessed. I saw some who were slain in the Spirit and some that were not, including me. I went not expecting a miracle but knowing I could get some Grace and very powerful prayer support. I do feel that there is a complexity in the extent with which we allow God's healing power to help us. But we must remember that some of us are blessed not by the miracle of a healing, but by accepting the cross that God challenges us with.

Praise Be to God !!
No man has the power to healer..the power is within..with the help of the lord..
I too have attended the healing services of Dr. Nemeh through which he is an instrument through which the Holy Spirit descends upon people who "open" their hearts to healing. I believe he is legitimate.

I pray for the conversion of those hearts who are hardened to the possibility that God can work through people in this way.

We are servants of God here to proclaim His greatness and love to each other!

Simple faith!

My question is what physical laws are not broken by the people who are healed?

God bless you! Even though I don't agree with what you say...
Dr. Nemeh makes it very clear he does not have the power to HEAL. The healing comes from Christ, the Holy Spirit and our own faith...few of us know how to bring this on in all it's glory. Dr. Nemeh evidently, and most certainly does. Those of you who are not Christians anyway or are weak in your faith are wasting everyone's time here, not to mention your own.
I attended Dr. Nemeh's last service and am in need of help in understanding what exactly happened. I went in not expecting much, but it was so peaceful and I had a lot of time to pray and reflect upon the relationship I share with God. If nothing else, I can say that that was a definate highlight of the service.
I am, however, confused about what happened when he prayed for me. Was something miraculous supposed to happen? I felt peaceful, but I am wondering if I was supposed to feel something more. I am confused and new to baing so content in His grace, and I just need someone to share some of his or her wisdom with me. I want so badly to believe that something miraculous could happen! Do I need to sit and meditate on my own about what happened, or wait for something to happen? Help me please.
many will come in my name saying LORD'LORD have we not cast out devils in thy name and he will say depart from me I never new you; [take evry preacher to the word of God if they dont preach & live it these are the ones God said He would spew out of His mouth in to great tribulation} DANGER JESUS IS COMING only for the pure clean childern of ALL MIGHTY GOD]

I'm not saying Dr. Nemeh is a fake but we need to be aware that Satan tries to immitate God as much as he can.
The Bible warns that many will come in the last days performing so-called miracles in Jesus's name to lead many astray. Does anyone remember that even Pharoah turned his staff into a snake, too? That was the power of Satan!! He's not as powerful as God, but he is powerful. Please people, don't believe everything you see. Erik made an great point and I didn't see that anybody could answer him.

Dear Anonymous - we have a woman at our church who has a very severe case of RSD for 8 years now. Could you email details so we can help her too!

Blessings - Mary
I believe in the power of the mind completely, but what has happened with this guy is different. The way he has told people what he has and that it is gone before they have time for their minds to work on it. It is just different. There is energy, there is power of the mind, I think they're all real, our being work with energy, but God can do more than that as has been shown. At least, energy and the mind dont explain what has been done in Christianity above other religions where similar thngs have happened (but not as many or as clearly beyond just the power of positive thinking).
Let's see...I went to a healing service in August 2005 after being told by the experts that the only thing that would fix my heart arrhythmia's was a dangerous operation that "might" work about 70% of the time. I had been shocked 3 times the last two
previous months and 13 times total since the year 2000.

Being in law enforcement, I'm a skeptic. I've been trained my whole life to "never believe anything you hear and only half of what you see with your own eyes".

The first thing that I saw was no one asking for any money.
They, the church people, gave the throngs of people "free bottled water, pop, coffee, tea, cookies and potato chips. Oh, they'd sell you 2 hot dogs on a plate with some potato salad for 2 bucks just to cover some of their costs but not many were hungry. Questions ran through my mind, how can they afford this? Why aren't they asking for donations? Who's paying for all this?

I waited my turn, watching some people fall to the floor as Dr. Nemeh prayed with them...I thought..."no way in hell will I make a fool out of myself and fall over like that". I listened to the stories of people who claimed healing and thought "if only it were all true and maybe this and maybe that and maybe it was all just a big coincidence".

My turn came, I looked at the altar with our Lord hanging on the cross and said to myself, "Help me Lord, touch me today". As the doctor approached me my legs started to shake like the leaves on a tree on a windy day. I looked down at them and said "what the heck is happening". I fought to stay upright then Bam...the next thing I recall is Dr Nemeh bent over me saying something I couldn't understand. According to my wife I laid there about 5 minutes and the doctor's wife asked me if in was OK and ready to get up. I asked what had happened? She said I received a gift. I said "yeah, I know but what happened" She again said: you received a gift from God". I again said "yeah, but what happened to me". She said just thank God for the great gift He has given you today". I was helped up still weak kneed and walked back to my pew.

I have not been in the heart arrhythmia since that day, 2 years ago even though the experts said "it would be a permanent thing and that I'd need surgery". Do I have other problems, yes, don't we all? Is life perfect for me? No. But I truly believe that I was touched by the Holy Spirit that day. Why me? I ask myself that a lot. Surely I wasn't the sickest or most deserving one there that day. I thank our Lord for his gift to me and I thank Dr Nemeh for his time and effort. May God bless him and all the good people that work with him.

As far as I know no one has every been miraculously healed due to devotion to athieism.
Eveery day people are healed by pennicillin and countless other miracles drugs.

Show me a faith healer regenerate a limb or kidney and I'll be impressed! Faith healers never take on that form of miracle.
When Jesus healed, it was instant, and complete. The blind man did not have to wait until he made an appointment later in the month with Jesus, for a follow up visit. Dr. Nemeh's "people" say that he charges $250 because he has to make a living.... I've been in his large, over the top home. His children drive expensive cars, etc. He has told my friends who desperately seek help from him that their ailments (being overweight as one example)will be cured. It's a deceitful way to make a living. Those who seek him out and pay the large office fee often borrow money, take out advances on credit cards, and dip into their savings accounts, all while the Nemeh family live extravagantly, not by humble means like Jesus and his discilples.
NASA believes him, and they are conducting a scientific study to prove it.

I don't believe in televangelists- but I do think this man does have the ability to heal.

Think of it- we pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to doctors and most of us don't get the proper diagnosis or treatment after years of seeing so-called "legitimate health care providers" so if this guy can do better....why not let him try?
NASA is going to test this guy's metaphysical powers?

My first question is still: Why can faith healers never regenerate limbs? Does God have something against amputees?

Suggesting a NASA scientist confirm medical results is ludicrous!

What one would do is conduct a study where a panel of doctors examines a group of patients, half of whom get the Nemeh treatment and the other half doesn't. Afterwards the same doctors - who don't know which patients got treatment from Nemeh and which didn't - examine the patients.

Why don't do that for skeptics like me?
People become healed because they surrender themselves to something far greater then themselves... Closed hearts and minds are not surrendering themselves to the will of God... It's resisting and not allowing God in...Fear, feeling unworthy, lack of faith, lack of trust, push God away and out of our way... Society teaches us to be selfish and to strive to be number 1... We are called to be selfless.. Here to serve God using the gifts He gives us to reflect His love as an outward sign to others... His love wins!
Seeing isn't believing... Believing is seeing... Faith is a gift God gives all of us.. Question is..Will we chose to receive it?
Imagine for a moment, a room filled with all the gifts God has ready to give you.. The door is closed.. We have the free will to choose. We can ask for gifts from God or we don't.. He invites us to share in His love... He wants to give... He is better than the most loving parent... He desires great things for you... If life is an occasion, why not rise to it!
Believer or not.
In the end there can only be one.
God's love wins everytime!
