Dobson gets membership in "It's OK if You're a Republican" club

Last year, I'd collected 11 election 2004 endorsements made by James Dobson, for the purpose of pointing out that in all 11, he begins by lying, "I hardly ever make political endorsements."

Although my memory isn't clear, I believe the reason I didn't call foul on Dobson making endorsements at all was because I'd assumed that Dobson's Focus on the Family was allowed to make political endorsements. I was wrong - Focus on the Family is barred from making political endorsements.

You are digging up a lot of 2004 stuff tonight, eh?
That's me - always ahead of the curve!
I was working with the gentleman who's house I am "helping" build. He had on a station that hosts "focus on the family," It was very interesting because he started by discussing how to develope indipendence in children. It sounded almost exactly like part od my philosophy of child rearing, granted I have alowed for considerable more decision making than he would have probably endorsed for my four year old but it was very in line. Then he started discussing the feminist movement and the horros that have stemmed from it. and he comes of sounding like a flaming fucking moron. It is absolutely amazing to me that a person can say the things he was saying and actualy keep a straight face and voice. And his underlying endorsement of Alito - or more to the point his faith in our "christian" president's decisions / appointments was a blatant political endorsement. He obviously see's himself as untouchable - the sad part is, he probably is. . .
