What would have been immoral about aborting this unborn child?
I'd like to see one example of an elective partial birth abortion.
I believe there are no recent examples in the US of a third-trimester abortion performed on a healthy fetus and woman.
Your thoughts?

How is it okay to kill an innocent human being just because he has a biological defect?
I note that the article uses quotation marks around the word "baby" to describe him. Of course he's a baby! What else would he be?

Where the hell did you find this?!?!?! And is there any way of determining whether or not that "baby" was gay?

It's OK to abort late term pregnancies if the baby can't survive on it's own, as in the example of this baby born without a brain.

Nowhere in the article you posted mentioned anything about this child not having a brain. Also, the article said the mother had no illness during her pregnancy. I got the impression his appearance and deformities were a surprise to his parents.
That said, I think it is disgusting that this dead child was apparently paraded around town.
As to your comment about US late term abortions, you ask for examples as if they make headlines with that sort of thing. I don't think so. I'm sure it does happen. To think otherwise is ridiculous.

To the inappropriateness of this child being gawked at and paraded around in such a terrible fashion, it brings to mind a story recently in our local paper about photographers who take photos of babies stillborn. They showed examples in the paper, all black & white photos, just sad but sweet photos of the mother holding her child tenderly, or both mother and father looking at their child with love. I would have thought generally pictures of dead babies is disrespectful, but for these parents it is an important memory for them to be able to have always. Quite a contrast to the parents of the baby you have shown here that was not even given the decency of a blanket or diaper to cover its naked body. Truly sad.
As for you posting this picture at your blog, Erik, I can only say I am troubled greatly that you would continue the disrespectful nature of this photo to make some kind of social or political point. It's just terrible really.

I've been waiting for someone to address the topic of the post by discussing the question posed: "What would have been immoral about aborting this unborn child?"

It is immoral to abort any unborn child in my mind, apparently you think that being different means that a child does not deserve to live. Why is that?
Seriously, you don't feel any regrets for exploiting this deceased baby's image to bring up a discussion on abortion?
If not, I think very much less of you.

This baby's "differentness" was that it didn't have a brain.
How would carrying this fetus to term be of benefit to anyone?
