Biblical teachings and ideology: BOO! Science YEA!
I was too caught up in partisan rhetoric at the time to realize my passion for knocking on doors was primarily driven by a desire to hear an announcement like this from the president-elect. Awesome. YAY! We did it!

I give pretty good snake massages too
Ada Barak's snake spa, in Talmei Elazar, northern Israel, uses California and Florida king snakes, corn snakes and milk snakes for the massages, which cost £40 ($70).
Miss Barak believes that physical contact with the reptiles can be a relaxing experience. She says that she was inspired by her belief that once people get over any initial misgivings, they find physical contact with the snakes to be stress relieving.
Miss Barak began offering the service at the Talmey El'Azar tourist attraction in 2006 and now most of her income comes from exhibiting plants at her carnivorous plant farm, which eat everything from insects to small mammals.

Stock market, Rupublicans erratic: humorists lament the impossiblity to write satire about the McCain campaign
The tumult in the stock market should come as no surprise to those who realize exceptionally good or bad days are driven by the psychological perceptions of those hoping to make a gain in the sort term, but I think everyone regardless of stripes is shocked by the erratic behavior of the GOP over the last few days. Politics is now finnier than political satire could ever be. Just a few examples follow.
Today, the RNC introduced an ad blaming Democrats for the passage of the Wall Street bailout bill, which of course didn't pass,
They must not have caught wind of McCain campaign's claims of taking credit for the sure passage of the same bill,
McCain attempted to blame Barak and Democrats for shooting down the widely unpopular piece of legislation - who exactly is McCain expecting to appeal to here? Undecideds who were both for the legislation and against the Democrats on the same side of the legislation as McCain? It's too confusing to ponder for very long.
Even better, McCain and Palin attempt to couch a real-time debate between them as ... uh, a "Gotcha" question from a Palin supporter at a rally,
Then again, that's nothing compared to McCain's short debate with himself.
Here's Palin contrasting the choice before voters this presidential election, "I'm the new energy, the new face, the new ideas [vs] ... experience."
If an anonymously penned book about this election got zapped back to, say - July, it would be an immediate best seller --- in the vein of Being There and Dr. Strangelove.

The Nuge is an idiot
The print and television media coverage is obviously biased in favor of Sen. Obama, yet you do not hear McCain complaining about it. He continues to march face-first into the howling political winds like an American buffalo on a mission. I like that.
When Obama received European adulation (as if he were the Second Coming), McCain did not complain but rather continued his steadfast campaign on American turf.
"No Whiners Allowed"

Here is just a sampling of the many complaints over much time from the McCain camp about Obama and the media.

They're married!
Today as an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church, registered in the state of Minnesota, I solemnized my first marriage - between my friends Heath and Jennifer.
I thought the ceremony was at 6:30 pm --- oops, it was 5:30. Fortunately I had asked Him for a wide berth without rain.

Obama on strategy vs tactics
One of the flaws in the President's approach is to say that [Bush] is doing what General Petraeus tells him is the best thing to do; that's not the President's job, the President's job is to tell the general's what the mission is because you have to take the entire strategic interests of the United States in mind not just one particular front when it comes to our national interest. And so the mission I will set for our generals is to bring this war to a close.

Right-wingers freak out over David Addington's appearance before a congressional hearing, claiming the hearing revealed his persona which has never been a secret to anyone. This, from the same folks that tried their best to defend the leaking of an actual covert CIA agent.

Rabbi Elchonon Kirshentaun
"We're here to share in the pain of Lebanese people and to express our belief that authentic Jews have been against the State of Israel since day one and has no right to exist and it's against the Jewish faith ... Judaism is a religion of peace, Jews have been loyal citizens of whichever country they have lived in over the years and have lived in peace with Arabs in the Arab lands for thousands of years, we would like to continue to do so. The only problem is Zionism and Zionists. It's neither Jews nor Arabs, it's not Judiasm or Islam ... [Zionism] is only 50 to 100 years [old]."

Elephant runs amok in Kerala, kills three
An elephant gored to death three people, including a woman, during a temple festival in Kerala's Thrissur district on Wednesday afternoon.
... The police identified two of those killed as Kausalya, 75, and Nidheesh, 20. "The third person's identity is yet to be confirmed. His face was crushed beyond recognition," an official at Irinjalakkuda police station said.
The jumbo, which continued the rampage for about two hours, was calmed down by the mahouts and chained.
