Jamie Hook adapted the movie for stage, and is also the director. Here he is seen with Vanessa, the production assistant ("PA") who had the night off. The PA has the most physically taxing job - so exhausting that the role cannot be played by the same actor on two consecutive nights. For continuity's sake, Jamie found two super-hot Asian chicks to alternate the role. Pictured is Vanessa, who was off this night - here she is selling the $1 Point Break LIVE! Survival Kits (rain jacket, earplugs, fake money). Optional but recommended.
Jamie lets the audience know what they are in for ...
... and calls for volunteers from the audience to play "The Keanu".
The Keanu is selected by virtue of the volume of cheers the candidates can muster from the audition line "Surgical, bro'." Suntan lotion is distributed while The Keanu gets into his wetsuit offstage.
The Keanu reads his lines off cue cards supplied by the PA, seen here as the athletic stripe on a leg and hand holding the cue card.
Before the audience is used to the format, a band of robbers seize upon them, demanding money from the Point Break LIVE! Survival Kits.
Before the robbed figure out what is going on, the robbers are gone, out the stage door and into the Minnesota night.
Harp, in the middle, is the hard-ass head of the FBI unit trying to bust the robbers. He's really short. His lackies have to squat while walking so as not to be taller than him.
Tyler, the token female in the actual movie, is played by an 11 year old. Here, she is teaching The Keanu to surf. At this very moment, she is pushing him over telling him he has to have both feet hitting the surfboard at the same time when he "pops".
As soon as he gets it, Bodhi surfs in, performing awesome surfing moves such as the Charleston, Pirouette, and Egyptian belly dance.
Then Bodhi's disciples enter, playing homoerotic football.
One of the PA's jobs is to be The Keanu's stunt double. Here we see The Keanu back in after his stunt double viciously tackles Bodhi. This Keanu caught on to the overblown homoeroticism right from the start.
After Bodhi's disciples accost The Keanu for his savage tackle, Bodhi realizes The Keanu is Johnny Utah, star of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Everybody apologies profusely.
In the following scene, it is established that Bodhi wishes to ride the waves of the 50-year Winter Storm in Australia.
In the last scene of the first act, The Keanu realizes his surfing buddies are the bankrobbers because he recognizes the ass shown in the security tape from the first bank robbery.
The Keanu and Pappas in their imagined car on the stakeout to bust the bank robbers.
The surfers rob another bank during the sloppy FBI stakeout and The Keanu chases Bodhi through and around the audience for several minutes.
The Keanu is pretty beat up from the chase. Tyler realizes he is FBI. Here, The Keanu is trying to explain on the phone that at first he was just using her to get to the robbers, but actually really loves her now.
At this point, The Keanu knows his new friends are the bank robbers and the robbers know The Keanu is FBI, but neither party know that the other party knows. They all go skydiving.
Once the skydivers are on the ground, Bodhi explains to The Keanu that they know he is FBI and that they have kidnapped Tyler and will release her after The Keanu helps them rob a bank.
Everybody robs the bank.
The robbery goes bad and a surfer is killed, another wounded.
Harp is not happy. Cusses out everybody. The Keanu's partner, Pappas gives him some harsh words.
While the surviving surfers are making a final escape to Mexico via airplane and parachutes, The Keanu ends up on the plane and jumps out - sans parachute - and tackles Bodhi in midair armed with the gun Bodhi throws down before jumping.
Hair blown by a leaf sweeper, Bodhi refuses to open the one parachute, knowing that The Keanu has the choice of dropping the gun and pulling the chute or keeping the gun and turning into a meat waffle on impact.
The Keanu decided to drop the gun and pull the chute. Flash forward several months to the Winter Storm, visited upon the audience with SuperSoakers, as evidenced by the water drops on the camera lens here. Audience members wise enough to have purchaced the Survival Kit are largely saved from the soaking.
After handcuffing Bodhi during a fight, The Keanu decides to let Bodhi escape imprisonment by allowing him to die while trying to ride the "ultimate wave" of the winter storm.
